William Morrison
William was born in 1841 in Bothwell, Scotland. His parents were John MORRISON and Mary Ann MOORE.
William married Catherine Lamb on 7 October 1864 in Blantyre, Larnark, Scotland. She was the daughter of Thomas LAMB and Hannah HENDERSON. The family arrived in New Zealand around 1872 and settled in the Gisborne area. The three youngest children were all born in New Zealand.
Children of William and Catherine :
Thomas Lamb born 26 December 1861 in Blantyre, Larnark, Scotland. He arrived in New Zealand around 1872. Thomas married Margaret ROBSON in 1886. He died on 1 June 1946 in Gisborne.
Janet Galbraith was born in July 1865 in Scotland. She arrived in New Zealand around 1872 and married George Thomas WILDISH in 1886. Janet died on 8 October 1923.
John was born in 1866 in Blantyre, Larnark, Scotland. He arrived in New Zealand around 1872. John married Ann LANGLEY on 27 September 1892. He died in 1947.
Grace was born in 1870 in Larnark, Scotland. She died at sea on the way to New Zealand in 1872.
James born 6 June 1872 in Larnark, Scotland. He arrived in New Zealand around 1872. James married Eliza WILDISH on 28 November 1896 in Gisborne. Children were -
- Doris Robina born 11 April 1897 in Gisborne and died on 2 May 1898.
- Muriel Hope born 1 December 1900. She married Thomas Nicholson COCHRANE on 4 April 1923. Muriel died on 23 February 1961 and Thomas died on 17 June 1970.
- Allan Lewis born 10 November 1906 in Gisborne. Allan married Ina Dorothy WHITE on 16 December 1931. He died on 5 August 1953 in Gisborne.
- Robert James who married Catherine PARKER.
James died on 5 May 1953 in Gisborne and Eliza died on 3 March 1954 in Gisborne.
William was born in 1877. He married Mary Ann THORNE. William died in 1955.Hugh was born on 22 October 1879 in Gisborne, New Zealand. He died on 21 September 1966 in Gisborne.
Robina ( Ruby ) was born in 1881 in Gisborne, New Zealand. She married John BEVAN.
Janet was born in July 1865 in Scotland. She came to New Zealand around 1872 with his parents and older brother, Thomas, and younger siblings John, Grace and James.
Janet married George Thomas Wildish on 20 April 1886 in Gisborne. They settled in the Gisborne area and raised a family of eight children. Janet died on 8 October 1923.
