Matthias Schott
I believe Matthias was born 16 April 1821 in Bohemia. He was a stage-coach driver in the Black Forest, Bavaria for a time. Matthias married Anna (maiden name unknown - possibly RICE) in Bohemia. She was born on 1 March 1823 in Pilsen, Bohemia. Around 1869 Matthias and Anna and their four older children immigrated to the United States of America. They settled in Winona, Minnesota and it was here that their youngest child was born. Matthias died from asthma on 1 July 1889 in Winona, Minnesota, USA and was buried at St Rose Catholic Cemetery. Anna died on 24 March 1898 and was also buried at St Rose Catholic Cemetery.

Maria Theresa born in 1847 in Pilsen, Bohemia. Maria did not wish to go to America and instead disembarked in Auckland, New Zealand in 1866. She married Gregorius Johannes WENZLICK in Thames in 1869. Maria died on 11 December 1934 in Auckland and was buried at Tapu Cemetery on the Thames Coast.
Anna born around 1851 in Pilsen, Bohemia. She immigrated to America around 1869 with her parents and younger sister and brother. They settled in Minnesota. Anna married August J KESSLER on 28 October 1877 in Winona, Minnesota. August was born in December 1858 in German and had arrived in the United States in 1863. Children of Anna and August were children -
- August born 12 October 1878 in Winona. His occupation was a Stone Mason. August married Mary HECK on 11 February 1902 in Winona. August died in 1965.
- Bertha born October 1879 in Winona. She married William MERCER.

Rosa born 1855 in Pilsen, Bohemia. She immigrated to America around 1869 with her parents, older sister Anna and younger brother. They settled in Minnesota. Rosa married Heinrich WEGMAN on 1 February 1874. Heinrich was born about 1850 in Dodge, Wisconsin, USA and he was a farmer. Rosa died in 1915 in St Charles, Minnesota and was buried at Hillside Cemetery. Children of Rosa and Heinrich were -

- Mary born 1 September 1876 in Olmstead County, Minnesota and died 8 May 1885.
- Jacob born December 1879. Jacob's occupation in 1910 was a Saloon Keeper.
- Rosa born 1 February 1884 and died 27 April 1885.
- Joseph born 1884. He married Delia FRENCH on 11 December 1914.
- John Henry born around 1886 in Winona, Minnesota.
- Katherine May born 29 May 1888 in Winona, Minnesota. She married Edward KERNAN on 23 November 1909 in Winona. Katherine died on 26 September 1966.
- Francis born10 February 1890 in Winona, Minnesota. He married Ruth MURPHY. Francis died around 1958 in Winona.
- Frances born around 1893 in Winona, Minnesota. She married Harry GOLDEN on 17 November 1920 in Winona.
- George born 28 March 1897 in Winona, Minnesota. He married Ella CROSBY on 19 July 1922. George died in June 1971 in Alhambra, California, USA.
John Matthias born 27 November 1861 in Pilsen, Bohemia. He immigrated to America with his parents and older sisters Anna and Rosa around 1869. John married Mary Anna WIEDEMANN on 3 February 1891 in Minnesota. Mary was born on 9 April 1867 in Minnesota and died 27 June 1946. John died on 8 April 1911 in Winona, Minnesota and was buried at St Rose Catholic Cemetery. Children of John and Mary were -
- John Mathew born 14 February 1892 in Winona. John married three times. Firstly on 18 November 1911 to Alma BURT. Secondly on 11 January 1917 to Estella GRADEL. Thirdly about 1929 to Gertrude STAEHLER. John died on 21 April 1962.
- William Anthony born 4 January 1896 in Winona. He married Amy Izetta HISLOP on 27 September 1919 in Winona. Amy was born on 16 December 1899 at Pipestone, Minnesota and died on 27 April 1979. William died in 1959 and was buried at St Rose Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston.
- Gertrude Helen born 2 February 1898. She did not marry. Her de facto partner was Herbert Edwin FRITZ. He was born on 1 August 1898 in Wisconsin, USA and died 26 February 1979. Gertrude died on 26 January 1983.
- Leo Martin born 16 January 1900. He married Elma Therasa VOSS on 3 September 1935. Leo died on 29 March 1965.
- Benjamin Joseph born 14 February 1903 in Winona. He died on 13 January 1976 and was buried at St Rose Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston.
Catherine born around April 1870 in Winona, Minnestoa, USA. She married in 1893 to Frederick ROENTZ. Catherine died in 1942 in Multnomah, Oregon, USA.

She married Gregorius Johannes Wenzlick in Thames on 31 March 1869 and had twelve children. The family lived in Puhoi and later settled on the Thames Coast. Gregorius was the eldest son of Mikal WENZLICK and Anna SCHUSSER.
Maria died on 11 December 1934 in Auckland. She was buried at Tapu Cemetery on the Thames Coast. Gregorius had died on 26 April 1914 and was also buried at Tapu Cemetery.
