Most of the following information was received from Otto Palfenier, Alberta, Canada who answered a query I had posted regarding May families in Cornwall, England. As with all the information on my genealogy pages, some may yet to be confirmed or may not be accurate. Also John Kimball who supplied information regarding Thomas (b. 1725) and ancestors of Richard (chr. 1683).
Edward Trelease
Edward was born in 1550 in Redruth, Cornwall, England. He married in 1575, also in Redruth and children included Thomas, born 1577.
Thomas was born in 1577 in Redruth, Cornwall, England. Children included John, born in 1630.
John was born in 1630 in Redruth, Cornwall, England. Children included -
- James born in Perranarworthal, Cornwall in 1682.
- Richard born in 1683/84 in Cornwall.
Richard was christened on 9 September 1683 in St Stithians, Cornwall, England and died in November 1741. He married Ann Treweek on 15 December 1709 in St Stithians. She was the daughter of Abraham TREWEEK (a descendant of John TREWEEK born 1638). Ann was christened on 21 July 1683 in St Stithians, Cornwall and died in July 1725, shortly after the birth of their youngest child. Richard and Ann were buried in St Stithians, Cornwall.

Richard christened 3 February 1710/11 in Gwennap, Cornwall.
Jane born about 1713 in Cornwall. She married William DUNSTONE who was christened on 15 March 1675/76 at Helston, Cornwall.
Prudence born about 1714 in Perranarworthal, Cornwall.
Ann christened 29 December 1716 in St Stithians, Cornwall. She married John JENKIN on 31 December 1737 in St Stithians.
Abraham ( Abram ) christened 30 March 1719 in St Stithians, Cornwall. He married Mary GREEN on 9 April 1739 in St Stithians. Children of Abraham and Mary were -
- Grace born 7 June 1742.
- Mary born 26 March 1744.
- Jenefer born 14 February 1746/47 and died 6 February 1747/48.
- Ann born 14 January 1748/49.
- Jenefer born 3 December 1757 and died 31 December 1757.
- Thomas born 8 July 1759.
- Joanna born 17 August 1761.
John christened March 1720/21 in St Stithians.
William christened 26 February 1722/23 in St Stithians, Cornwall. He married Prudence PHILP on 13 May 1745 in Blisland, Cornwall and they had seven children.
Thomas christened 23 May 1725 in St Stithians, Cornwall. Thomas married Grace TIDDY in May 1752 and children included -
- John born 1 April 1753 in Perranzabuloe, Cornwall. He married Ann PETERS on 24 February 1781. Children were -
+ John born 12 May 1782 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died 18 July 1840.
+ Thomas born 3 August 1783 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died 18 November 1840.
+ Richard born 20 March 1785 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died 3 October 1861.
+ Jenefer born 20 May 1787 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died in 1811.
+ Ann born 17 May 1789 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died in 1812.
+ Grace born 1792 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died in 1860 in New Quay, Wales.
+ Abraham born 2 October 1794 in Linkinhorne, Cornwall. He was an inn-keeper. Abraham married Jenny ALFORD in 1817. Their children included - Abraham born 1818, Thomas born 1823, Edward born 1825, William born 1826, Henry and Richard born 1830, and Cecilia born 1841 who all immigrated to the United States of America. Abraham died 22 December 1861 in Linkinhorne, Cornwall.

- Richard born 14 February 1767 in Gwennap, Cornwall and died in 1817 in Davenpool, Devonshire, England.
William was christened on 26 February 1722/23 in St Stithians, Cornwall. He married Prudence Philp on 13 May 1745 in Blisland, Cornwall. She was christened on 6 July 1718 in Blisland, Cornwall and was the daughter of John PHILP and Jane CRANE. Prudence died in October 1797 and was buried in Gwennap.

Charles born January 1760.
William was born in 1756 in Blisland, Cornwall and was christened on 27 November 1759 in Gwennap, Cornwall. On 3 January 1784 he William married Joan Morcombe in Gwennap, Cornwall on 3 January 1784. Joan was was christened on 27 November 1763 in Gwennap and was the daughter of John MORCOMBE and Ann DUNSTONE. Joan died in September 1799 and was buried in Gwennap, Cornwall.

John christened 25 July 1784 in Gwennap, Cornwall.
Charles christened 12 March 1786 in Gwennap, Cornwall. Charles married Elizabeth JAMES on 27 August 1818 in Gwennap.
Thomas christened 18 January 1789 in Gwennap.
Jane christened 26 December 1790 in Gwennap, Cornwall. Jane married Abraham MAY on 14 December 1809 in Gwennap.
William christened 1 July 1792 in Gwennap, Cornwall. He married Catherine KENT on 1 February 1813 in Gwennap. William died in June 1831 in Cornwall.
Richard christened 6 September 1795 in Gwennap, Cornwall. Richard married Elizabeth WHITFORD on 9 August 1827 in St Clement, Cornwall.
Abraham christened 23 December 1798 in Gwennap, Cornwall. He died in May 1836 and was buried on 30 May 1836 in Gwennap.
Jane was the eldest daughter of William and Joan. She was christened on 26 December 1790 in Gwennap, Cornwall. Jane died in November 1836 in Gwennap and was buried in Cusgarne, Gwennap.
Jane married Abraham May in Gwennap on 14 December 1809 and their had fourteen children. Abraham was born on 11 January 1788 and was the son of Nicholas MAY and Ann TREWEEK (a descendant of Christopher TREWEEK born 1650). Abraham was employed as a miner.
